Resume Writing

The first step in any job search is to ensure you have a great resume which is a reflection of you and your accomplishments. Your resume should include:

  1. Clearly display all your contact information at the top of the document.
  2. List all of the positions you have held within at least the past seven years and include the title of your position(s), your job duties and the length of time you held each position.
  3. Include all of your educational accomplishments.
  4. To ensure that your resume looks professional, make sure you spell-check it thoroughly and format it in a clear and concise manner to make it easy to read.
  5. Tailor your resume to your desired position of interest.

Interviewing Tips

  1. Prepare the night before by researching the company and have good questions.
  2. Have examples of the experiences you have encountered throughout your career.
  3. Once your interview has been scheduled, map out the location the night before and determine how long the trip will take to ensure you arrive on time.
  4. Dress professionally - you can only make one first impression.
  5. Bring a copy of your resume and references and know what is on it.
  6. Try to relax and smile – your interviewer is eager to meet you.
